In the realm of young and talented individuals, Shahid Ul Islam, a law student hailing from Mantipora, Shangus, Anantnag, shines brightly. Though his initial aspirations were in the medical field, circumstances steered him towards a different path, and now he is pursuing a BA LLB degree at the University of Kashmir. Shahid’s journey is one of perseverance and diverse talents, encompassing public speaking, writing, photography, activism, and a passion for teaching. Inspired by influential figures and motivated by his own aspirations, Shahid aims to become a judicial officer or serve in the prestigious Indian Administrative Services (IAS).
A Transition from Medicine to Law:
Shahid’s journey began as a medical student until the 12th grade, fueled by a desire to become a doctor. However, due to certain challenges, he had to reconsider his career path. Driven by his keen interest in physics and inspired by Ummar Jamal, another law student at the University of Kashmir, Shahid made the decision to pursue law. This shift marked the beginning of an exciting and fulfilling journey in the legal field.
A Multifaceted Talent:
Shahid Ul Islam’s talents go beyond the realm of law. He is an accomplished columnist, poet, blogger, and writer, contributing his insightful articles and poems to various local and national newspapers such as , Kashmir Reader, Kashmir Observer, Kashmir Glory etc. With a keen eye for capturing the beauty of nature, Shahid also indulges in natural photography and videography, showcasing his creative prowess.
Passion for Activism:
Apart from his academic pursuits, Shahid actively engages in social and student welfare activities. He is a dedicated member of many organizations and NGO’s. His involvement with these NGOs reflects his commitment to championing the rights and welfare of students and the community at large.
Influential Figures and Inspirations:
Throughout his journey, Shahid has found inspiration in the support and guidance of key individuals. His friend Irfan Wani has played a pivotal role, acting as a teacher and father figure in his life. He is also grateful to Ganie Tariq, a teacher who has guided him on the right path. Additionally, his fellow law students, Ummar Jamal and Mir Tajamul Islam, have been constant sources of support and encouragement, helping Shahid overcome obstacles along the way.
Future Aspirations:
Shahid Ul Islam has set his sights on a bright and impactful future. His ultimate goal is to become a judicial officer or serve in the esteemed Indian Administrative Services (IAS). Inspired by his friend Dr. Shakeel Wanie, who has provided invaluable guidance, and supported by his mentor Javid Khan, an exceptional English teacher, Shahid is determined to mold his life and career in a way that positively influences society.
